THE PERFECT SOLUTION TO REPLACE
MISSING TEETH
Dental Bridges to Fill a Gap
in Teeth
There are times when a damaged tooth cannot be saved. Sometimes infection destroys the root structure and other times decay or damage results in a dead or lost tooth. Once the tooth is missing, you’ll need something to “bridge” the gap between the tooth that is lost and the rest of your teeth.
This will prevent your teeth from shifting and misaligning your bite, which could otherwise leave your surrounding teeth susceptible to ailments. By applying a bridge where the tooth is missing, you can protect the structure, strength, and improve the overall aesthetics of your smile.
CUSTOM RECOMMENDATION AND
SUPERIOR LEVEL OF CARE
From Temporary Bridge to
Long-Term Solution
During your visit, a dentist will determine the best plan of action based on your needs, budget, and desired outcome. If you have lots of healthy jawbone tissue to support a restoration, then a dental bridge will likely be recommended.
To ensure the bridge will fit perfectly, your dentist will first reduce the surrounding teeth in size. An impression will then be made to create the mould for the bridge. Your dentist will also find the right shade that will match the exact colour of your teeth. The mould will be created in a lab which can take up to a couple of weeks. In the interim, we’ll provide you with a temporary bridge that will be removed once your permanent one arrives.

NATURAL TEETH
Keep a Beautiful Smile
Thanks to Dental Bridges
When the bridge is ready to be placed, it will be cemented to the natural teeth surrounding the empty space. The teeth next door will also be prepared similarly to a crown in order to accept the bridge. Once completed, the bridge will work to stabilize the nearby teeth, strengthen your overall bite and improve your smile’s appearance. Best of all, no one will even notice since it will look just like your natural teeth!
When your tooth is too damaged for a crown, or you’ve lost a tooth entirely, a bridge can be an excellent solution to fill in the gap. At Yazdani Family Dentistry, we can provide a bridge that can maintain your beautiful smile for years to come!

Frequently Asked Questions
We get a lot of questions, naturally, about the wide range of dental services we perform here at our Kanata & Kemptville dental clinics. Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions. Don't see yours answered here? Feel free to reach out to Yazdani Family Dentistry.
It depends on the type of bridge you get. A fixed bridge is permanently fixed into your mouth and can’t be removed. A partial bridge can be removed. They can be easier to clean if they are removeable but also come with some drawbacks compared to fixed bridges.
Typically, a dental bridge can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years. If they are properly cared for, then they can possibly last longer! How long a bridge lasts is dependent on a few factors such as:
- How well you take care of your teeth
- Where the bridge is located
- The materials used to create the bridge
No. With our cutting edge technology, we are able to make dental bridges which match the colour and shape of your existing teeth, making them virtually impossible to tell apart from real teeth!
There are a number of reasons why a dental bridge would need to be replaced. If the fixture has chips or cracks in it from wear and tear, it will need to be replaced. Also, if you notice sensitivity or pain while chewing with the bridge, it could mean that changes in your mouth have caused the bridge to not fit properly. It is possible to refit it, but in some cases replacement is the better option. One other reason to replace a dental bridge is if it no longer matches the colour of your teeth and looks out of place in your mouth. If you think you might need to replace a dental bridge, contact us for an appointment!
If you have had a dental bridge for many years, the cement used to hold the bridge in place has likely begun to wear. This allows food and bacteria to make its way underneath the bridge which will cause bad breath if not cleaned properly. Worse yet, these food particles and bacteria can lead to tooth decay in the teeth that the bridge is cemented to. If you have a bridge and have bad breath you can’t seem to get rid of, contact us for an appointment for treatment!
