Meet Our Dentists
Dr. Shahrooz Yazdani
CEO/Director, All Locations
After earning his DDS degree with Honours from the University of Toronto in 1998, Dr. Yazdani completed a 2-year general practice residency in North Carolina. Residencies like this are optional; in fact, less than 1% of general dentists choose to pursue this sort of residency. Dr. Yazdani’s commitment to his trade didn’t stop there. He then completed over 1,000 hours of comprehensive continuing education offered by the Kois Center, as well as a 330-hour implant and bone grafting course through Ti-Max in Toronto.
In 2001, he opened Yazdani Dental and brought his many years of experience to clients in both Kanata and Kemptville. Dr. Yazdani believes strongly in helping others, and enjoys his work immensely. When he’s not working hard to help you with your dental and oral health needs, he enjoys sitting by the pool or beach with a good book and the company of his family.

Dr. Mary Claire Bates
Kemptville Location
Dr. Mary Claire Bates was born and raised in Maryland, USA. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Towson University. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
While finishing dental school she took the National Canadian Dental Board Examination along with the United States Dental Board Exam in order to be licensed in both countries. After finishing dental school she moved to Asheville, North Carolina where she completed a one year General Practice Residency.
During residency she had additional training in all areas of dentistry including restorative dentistry such as fillings, crowns and bridges and complicated wisdom teeth extractions.
She also received additional training in Pediatrics. Dr. Bates is also certified to administer nitrous oxide to all ages in order to make patient’s dental appointments more comfortable.
Dr. Bates lives in Ottawa with her boyfriend where they like to explore and try new restaurants. In her spare time she likes to spend time outdoors, cook and read. Her favorite things to do would be reading a book on the beach and spending time with family and friends and travelling throughout Europe is on her bucket list.
Dr. Bates is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association and Ottawa Women’s Dental Study Club. She is dedicated to continuing her education in order to stay up to date with new techniques and technologies in order to provide her patients with the best and most comprehensive oral care.

Dr. Yi Ming Shen
Kanata Location
Dr. Shen graduated from the Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from McGill University in 2017. He completed a General Practice Residency at Stony Brook in Long Island, New York in 2018.
Some interesting facts about Dr. Shen: His family is in Montreal and he cannot live without his cell phone. On his bucket list, he plans to travel to the Arctic and explore Antarctica. He also hopes to road trip through America.

Dr. Sameera Usman
Kemptville Location
Dr. Usman completed her Bachelors in Dental surgery from Royal Dental College, a very reputed institute in Kerala, India where she was awarded academic excellence during her first year.
After completing her initial years of practice, she decided to move to Canada for good with her family in 2017. After dealing with the much tougher tasks in the life of being a mother to two beautiful daughters she decided to continue what her passion was, to keep everyone smiling and worked towards getting accredited and licensed by the National Dental Board of Canada and Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and be an active member of most Dental professional boards.
The vison of Yazdani Family Dentistry and its team is what made her sell her house in Windsor and move with her family all the way to Kemptville to be a part of the community and the vibrant team.
Her passion for the profession has always made her evolve and enhance her skills by doing various advanced certifications programs from the leaders in the dental practice and committed to progress throughout her career.
Apart from her passion, she is a whole hearted foodie and loves to spend her time with her family and friends, travelling and exploring. She strongly believes in volunteering for a lot of charity work for the deserving.
Her goal is to make the dental experience as comfortable as possible and strive to perform only the best treatment for patients by providing the knowledge needed to maintain the best oral hygiene at home and make you feel happy and confident about your smile.

Dr. Bassam Hameed
Kanata Location
Dr. Sam completed his BDS from Al Rafidain University College in Baghdad, Iraq. It is considered one of the oldest private academic colleges in Iraq.
After coming to Canada Dr. Sam became a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons.
In his spare time Dr. Sam like to take artistic photos and create short films.
If time and money were not a factor, Dr. Sam would open and run his own dental practice in Venice, Italy.

Dr. Bhavesh Modi
Kemptville and Carleton Place Locations
Dr. Bhavesh Modi completed dental school in 2008 from Government Dental School Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
Dr. Modi received his Dental license in Canada in 2020, by direct licensing process by NDEB.
Dr. Modi also carries his Minimal sedation certificate.
Dr. Modi can’t stand the cold and moved to the coldest country in the world in 2017. If time and money were not a factor, Dr. Modi would travel the world.

Dr. Drashti Kakadiya
Kemptville Location
Dr.Kakadiya completed her Bachelors of Dental Surgery at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bengaluru, India, in 2014. She worked as an associate dentist in India from 2015 to 2017 before moving to Canada. After arriving in 2017, she earned a postgraduate diploma in Dental Assisting and Leadership in Healthcare.
Most recently, in May 2025, she successfully completed the National Dental Examining Board of Canada's direct licensing process to practice as a dentist in Canada. Dr.Kakadiya is a proud member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Canadian Dental Association.
She is passionate about creating a positive, comfortable experience for every patient and is dedicated to promoting long term oral health and wellness.
Outside of dentistry, she enjoys staying active at the gym, spending quality time with her husband, and watching cricket and hockey. If time and money were no object, she would love to visit her family in India more often.

Dr. Mrunali Desai
Kemptville Location
Dr. Desai completed her BDS from Dharmsinh Desai University in Gujarat, India. It is considered one of the best Universities for Dental in the State of Gujarat. Dr. Desai graduated in 2016.
After coming to Canada, Dr. Desai completed her NDEB equivalency in 2021.
Dr. Desai has completed her nitrous oxide sedation certification and plans on doing many others in the future.
Dr. Desai likes to know about different languages and cultures. If time and money were not a factor, Dr. Desai would take up courses from the best Universities.

Dr. Shreyas Patel
Kanata Location
Dr. Shreyas Patel is a dedicated and compassionate dentist with over 11 years of experience in the field of dentistry. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2013 from Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College and Hospital in India. After several years of practicing general dentistry in India, Dr. Patel moved to Canada where he obtained his license to practice dentistry. Dr. Patel offers comprehensive dental care and is experienced in all aspects of general dentistry.
With a strong commitment to excellence, he continuously advances his knowledge in dental technology, restorative dentistry, and aesthetics to ensure his patients receive the highest quality of care.
He believes in a patient-centered approach, taking the time to thoroughly explain treatments and making sure each patient feels informed, comfortable, and well cared for. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Patel enjoys staying active by playing cricket and volleyball.
He also loves watching movies and spending quality time exploring new places with his wife and their lovely daughter. If time and money were no object, Dr. Patel’s dream would be to provide free dental care to those who are unable to afford it.

Dr. Anas Andy (Alsayouti)
Kanata Location
Dr. Anas Alsayouti, known to patients as Dr. Andy, is a graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry at the International University for Science and Technology in Syria, where he was awarded Golden Hands in Restorative Dentistry. After practicing general dentistry for a few years, he was accepted into a competitive Orthodontic Residency program and earned the Silver Medal for Orthodontics.
In 2015, Dr. Alsayouti relocated to Ottawa and he worked diligently to achieve his Certificate of Qualification from the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB). In recognition of his outstanding care and commitment to patients, he was named Dentist of the Year by MCA Dental Group in 2022.
In his free time, he volunteers with the Catholic Centre for Immigrants, supporting new Syrian refugees, to ease their transition into Canadian life. Dr. Andy is dedicated to a patient-centered approach to dentistry. He is committed to helping patients maintain their oral health and enhance their overall quality of life in a compassionate, welcoming environment.
When he's not practicing dentistry, Dr. Andy enjoys spending time outdoors playing tennis, traveling, and reading. A true food lover and explorer at heart, he's always on the lookout for new restaurants to try, and if time and money were no object, he'd travel the world.

Dr. Samuel Srinivansan
Kanata Location
Dr. Samuel Srinivasan earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from McGill University in 2025, where he distinguished himself not only in clinical practice but also in research. In 2021, he was awarded the IADR Cariology Research Travel Grant, recognizing his commitment to advancing scientific knowledge in oral health.
Dr. Srinivasan is passionate about making dentistry accessible and meaningful, both locally and globally. His calm demeanor, attention to detail, and patient-first approach make him a trusted provider of quality dental care.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Srinivasan is an avid cyclist with a love for endurance rides. His longest biking trip to date covered an impressive 241 km, on a single-speed bike, reaching a top speed of 52.6 km/h.
If time and money were not a factor, he would go biking around the world with his family, combining his love for travel and service by volunteering as a dentist in communities around the globe.

Dr. Kehzad Kakavand
Kemptville and Kanata Locations
Dr. Kakavand completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering at Carleton University in Ottawa, followed by additional Biology studies to meet the prerequisites for dental school. He then went on to earn his Bachelor of Dentistry from Griffith University on the Gold Coast of Australia, graduating in 2023. Dr. Kakavand earned numerous distinctions, including placement on the Dean’s Honour List at Carleton University, a scholarship award, and recognition for Academic Excellence at Griffith University in 2020–2021. He also holds a diploma in professional Photography, where his creative eye led him to secure first place in city-wide competitions.
Dr. Kakavand has developed a special interest in oral surgery and surgical extractions. He is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, taking pride in his ability to communicate effectively and build trusting, positive relationships with his patients.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kakavand enjoys photography, painting, and cooking various traditional dishes. He enjoys creative projects, such as making toys and art pieces from wood and metal or capturing portraits and landscapes, that allow him to sharpen his fine motor skills while also expressing his artistic side.
If time and money were not a factor, Dr. Kakavand would love to travel and provide free dental care to underserved communities around the world. He is equally passionate about advancing healthcare research and designing innovative medical devices in dentistry, with the goal of making a meaningful impact that improves patient care and expands possibilities within the field.

Dr. Melad Kamran
Kemptville Location
Dr. Kamran completed his Bachelor of Science in Honours Biology at the University of Waterloo in 2013. He began his dental studies at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2017 before transferring to the University of Toronto, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2021.
Before moving to Ottawa, Dr. Kamran practised in New Brunswick, where he developed a strong interest in esthetic dentistry and implantology. He has completed advanced training in wisdom tooth removal, implant placement, gum grafting, mild sedation, Bioclear techniques (anterior and posterior), soft tissue procedures, and CBCT interpretation. Dedicated to service, he has also volunteered on dental missions in Guatemala, providing care to underserved communities.
Dr. Kamran is committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care and continues to expand his skills to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys outdoor activities, exploring new cultures, and spending quality time with his wife and two children. If time and money were no object, he would travel the world to immerse himself in diverse cultures and communities.

Dr. Sacha Singh – IV

Locations
According to his friends, Dr. Singh expressed an interest in dentistry early in high school. While he disputes this, he did pursue a career in dentistry and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. Following a one-year general practice residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto, he completed a Masters Degree and specialty training in Periodontology, also at UofT.
His dental career took him to Whitehorse, Yukon and then Chapel Hill, North Carolina before he settled in Ottawa in 2002. In 2013, Dr. Singh refreshed his training in single-drug IV moderate sedation and has been providing this service in the Ottawa area since then.
When not helping patients relax, Dr. Singh unwinds by hiking, biking, running and skiing, and also enjoys reading and photography. Travel is also an activity he pursues when possible.

Dr. Angel Gabev – Dental
Surgeon | Kemptville Location
Dr. Gabev is the fourth generation of doctors and third generation of dentists and was exposed to dentistry at a very young age growing up in his father’s and grandfather’s clinics. He decided to break the family traditions and obtained his Chemistry Engineering Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Bulgaria, accomplished a year long externship at Imperial College of London University and acquired a Masters Degree in Economics from Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany).
Even though Dr. Gabev has many degrees; he was always connected to dentistry, involved in research projects and collaborated on hydro-distillation and ultrasonic herbal extraction technique for preparation of a mouth wash.
When he moved to Canada, his passion for dentistry and surgery made him pursue the family legacy subsequently completing his B.Sc. in Biology from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) and Dentistry Degree (DMD) from McGill University (Montreal, Canada). Dr. Gabev went on to complete a comprehensive advanced multidisciplinary residency program at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health – a Rochester University affiliated Hospital (Rochester, NY, USA) emphasizing on implantology, socket preservation, ridge augmentation, impacted/third molar extractions, surgical extractions and preprosthetic surgery. He regularly attends surgical continuing education courses and seminars staying up to date with new materials, techniques and procedures.
