Dental Exams and X-Rays
One of the most effective ways to detect oral cancer in its early stages is to perform regular dental exams and X-rays. When you come in for your routine check-up, our team will screen your oral cavity for spots, sores, or lumps, and feel around your mouth, throat, and face for any unusual masses or points of pain.
If necessary, we will take X-rays to assess below your gum line for hidden cysts or tumours, which may indicate oral cancer and need further investigation and treatment.

Benefits of Oral Cancer Screenings
Like any form of cancer, oral cancer can be life-threatening if left undiagnosed and untreated. At Yazdani Family Dentistry, our top priority with oral cancer screenings is to detect it early to increase the chance of effective and successful treatment.
We can also use oral cancer screenings as a tool to understand your risk levels and establish preventative dental measures to promote good oral health as it relates to your overall well-being.
